Bang! The power of the sound

Fireworks? Gunshot?

Bang! The reflex to hit the

Deck or clap and cheer?

How do you react?

Does it cause you to jump

In fear for a second

Do you clap and cheer?

Every time I hear the bang-

My reaction is to jump and

Look around

My husband has no reaction.

I still remember the live fire

Exercises and how they sounded

While the world celebrates

The new year!

I fear the sounds

Of the fireworks and what is to come.
